From conference calls to video chats, seamless collaboration and communications are critical to the Case Western Reserve University mission. To that end, Cisco WebEx, a voice and video collaboration service, is now available to members of the campus community.
About WebEx
Adobe Connect and Google Hangouts are two of the robust video conferencing and collaboration tools currently available at Case Western Reserve; what is different about WebEx? WebEx is a voice and video collaboration service offered by Cisco, the company with which the university partners for its telephone and voicemail systems. This means event organizers can allow invitees to participate in WebEx meetings by calling a telephone number or by visiting an online meeting room. Case Western Reserve’s agreement with Cisco allows for faculty and staff members to host unlimited video and conference calls using WebEx from their computer. Users also have the option to employ a conference telephone line, as needed. Faculty and staff members may use WebEx to:- Host meetings with up to 1,000 internal and external attendees, including students;
- Set up a personal online meeting room;
- Set up a personal audio conference line; or
- Participate in meetings with a computer microphone and speakers, or use a phone to call-in.
