WEWS: Atiba Ellis, the Morris G. Shanker Professor of Law, noted that Ohio’s new BMV citizenship-proof requirement is in effect after a federal appeals court ruling. Ellis said courts still must determine whether the law violates the National Voter Registration Act’s protections against overly burdensome voter registration requirements.
