Freeze on DOJ civil rights cases could spell end of Louisville consent decree
Kentucky Public Media: Ayesha Bell Hardaway, professor of law and director of the Social Justice Institute, said a recent federal memo halting civil rights litigation isn't surprising, recalling similar directives from Attorney General Jeff Sessions. She warned that without Department of Justice involvement, the Louisville consent decree might not move forward, leaving no plaintiff to pursue the case and enforce reforms.
