Learn about mass incarceration, refugee resettlement or environmental restoration with CCEL spring break programs

Spend a week in service, make new friends and learn about a new issue and community during spring break this March with the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning’s (CCEL) Alternative Breaks program. Break offerings will focus on the issues of:
  • mass incarceration (southeast Michigan),
  • refugee resettlement (Columbus) or
  • environmental restoration (Cumberland Island National Seashore, Georgia).
Visit CCEL’s Alternative Break page for complete details. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to participate in this program. The deadline to apply is Dec. 1; spots are filled on a rolling basis. Driver discounts and scholarships are available. Students wishing to take on an added leadership role for one of the breaks can apply for a site leader position by Nov. 26 and will receive a $150 trip discounted if selected.
