On April 5, the Odette Wurzburger Law-Medicine Fund Symposium will take place, titled "Balancing Privacy, Autonomy and Scientific Progress: Patients' Rights and the Use of Electronic Medical Records for Non-Treatment Purposes." A number of Case Western Reserve University faculty members, as well as leaders from academia and industry, will speak at the event.
The program will focus on the impact of the transition from paper medical files to electronic health records outside of the clinical setting.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the law school’s Moot Courtroom (A59), with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
The symposium is free and open to the public, but, pending approval, five hours of CLE are available for $200 ($100 for Case Western Reserve University alumni).
Boxed lunches will be provided, and a networking reception will follow the event.
