Spectrum News: Rob Fischer, the Grace Longwell Coyle Professor in Civil Society and director of the Center on Poverty and Community Development at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, said lead remediation is slowed by a “clunky, convoluted process” requiring coordination among government, contractors, landlords and residents. But he sees progress, saying declining childhood lead levels and renewed urgency show “focused energy” toward solving the problem.
