Far-away foster placements, social service shortcomings keeping Alameda County foster kids from family reunification

CBS News: David Crampton, associate professor at the Center on Poverty and Community Development at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, said foster children placed closer to home have a far better chance at reunification and stability—yet one California county is sending more than half its foster youth out of county, some hundreds of miles away.
