Chicago Tribune: Robert Fischer, the Grace Longwell Coyle Professor in Civil Society and director of the Center on Poverty and Community Development at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, said that, for decades, a popular belief has been that the percent of donation dollars diverted to administrative costs is a true measurement of charity effectiveness. “But that doesn’t make it the best metric,” he said.
