Masterworks of Medicine wins 2026 LAMPHHS Best Monograph Award
Masterworks of Medicine: Selections from the Rare Book Collections of the Cleveland Medical Library Association—a book commissioned and published by the Cleveland Medical Library Association (CMLA)—has won the 2026 Librarians, Archivists and Museum Professionals in the History of the Health Sciences’ (LAMPHHS) Best Monograph Award.
The book highlights the CMLA’s rare book collections and was written with contributions from staff of the Cleveland Health Sciences Library and Dittrick Medical History Center at Case Western Reserve University, and edited by a previous curator. The entries tell the story not only of the history of medicine, but also of the Cleveland Medical Library Association itself.
While the books are owned by the Cleveland Medical Library Association, they are cared for by and made available through the Cleveland Health Sciences Library.
