ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a unique identifier that definitively links your name with all your scholarly activities even if you have used different names over the course of your career. In addition, creating an ORCID:
- saves time because you can autofill forms for ORCID-enabled funders, publishers and institutions.
- helps you control your Research Profile.
- allows people to see a complete picture of your professional activities with your ORCID profile link, even generate a PDF version of your record that is formatted like a CV.
- is required by many funders including the federal government.
Please consult this research guide for more information about how to create an ORCID.
