Ebola outbreak in Africa declared a public health emergency, no U.S. cases
Spectrum News: Amy Edwards, assistant professor at the School of Medicine, explained how the U.S. can support the Ebola outbreak in Africa by sending items such as personal protective equipment and IV fluids. “A lot of these countries are not in a position to suddenly spend a lot of money on that sort of thing, but what we know from the prior large outbreak…if we don’t control it locally, we are at risk for spillover,” Edwards said.
