California Insider: John Dumot, professor at the School of Medicine, highlighted the rise of cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, noting that “the longer the use and the higher the dose, the higher the risk.” He explained the condition is “somewhat paradoxical,” as cannabis can temporarily relieve nausea, but symptoms recur as THC levels decline, with treatments such as capsaicin cream or olanzapine helping severe cases.
