San Diego Union-Tribune: Ryan Marino, assistant professor at the School of Medicine, said that drug screening tests have significant limitations, noting that some common prescription medications—like antidepressants—share a similar structural backbone with methamphetamine, called phenylethylamine, which can cause a false positive amphetamine and methamphetamine screen.
