Medicine’s Stephen Sroka pens piece about school shootings

Stephen Sroka, adjunct professor at the School of Medicine, wrote an op-ed for Campus Safety Magazine, titled “School Shootings and Settlements Soar: 5 Disturbing Perspectives and 5 Positive Prevention Strategies.”

In the article, Sroka opined there is no quick fix for school violence and that “everyone needs to step up and help make a difference." After reflecting on five disturbing events that seem to repeat after school shootings, he offers five positive prevention strategies to reduce gun violence in schools.
