Portage man survives 'widowmaker,' with help from wife, UH medics

Akron Beacon Journal: Yakov Elgudin, associate professor at the School of Medicine, discussed the case of a Portage County man who suffered a dire “widowmaker” heart attack caused by blockage of a major artery, though he was otherwise healthy. Elgudin urged people to watch for subtle symptoms and credited rapid, coordinated care at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute as lifesaving.
