WEWSJin Kim-Mozeleski, assistant professor in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at the School of Medicine, discussed the reasoning behind Cuyahoga County’s cigarette tax revenue dropping 34% since 2016, impacting arts and stadium funding. She noted higher taxes reduce smoking. “Increasing the price of cigarettes…is a very effective method to reduce the number of people who smoke overall,” she said.
