The Washington Post: Lindsay Malone, registered dietitian and instructor in the Department of Nutrition at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, said she recommends inexpensive fiber sources such as beans, lentils, oat bran and sweet potatoes. She suggested gradually increasing fiber—aiming for about 10 grams per meal—to avoid digestive problems, and emphasized adequate hydration. Malone also noted chia seeds should be consumed with liquid.
