STORY BY: EDITORIAL STAFF
Camp positions still are available for the Leonard Gelfand STEM Center’s Shipwreck Camp 2016, which is open to local children ages 12-15. The camp, held weekdays July 11-22 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will give campers the chance to participate in a virtual search for shipwrecks in Lake Erie. Campers also will:
  • Read novels related to exploration;
  • Meet local experts;
  • Build remotely operated vehicles for underwater exploration;
  • Use the tools of a scientist to conduct field research; and
  • Immerse themselves in an introduction to SCUBA.
The camp costs $530, which includes a non-refundable application fee. Lunch and snacks will be provided at the camp. For more information and an application, call 216.368.5075 or email kmk21@case.edu. For pictures and videos of 2015 camp activities, visit gelfand.case.edu/.
