PhD candidate in nursing pens paper on toxic stress in the NICU

Hind Alsabti, a PhD candidate at Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, recently penned a paper published in Advances in Neonatal Care.

Titled “A Concept Analysis of NICU-Based Toxic Stress,” Alsabti’s work explores NICU-based toxic stress and its implications for neonatal care, families and clinical practice. The article provides a foundational base for defining the toxic stress concept in the preterm and younger infants population admitted in the NICU.
