Ohio leads the nation in ACA marketplace enrollment decline for 2026

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Sharona Hoffman, the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center, said Ohio’s sharp decline in Affordable Care Act enrollment reflects the lack of state assistance after enhanced federal subsidies expired. She warned many uninsured Ohioans will delay care until emergencies, worsening health outcomes and increasing reliance on emergency rooms and free clinics.
