Sears think[box] expands 3D printing fleet with 24 high-speed Bambu X2C printers
As of June 1, Sears think[box] at Case Western Reserve University has added 24 brand-new Bambu Lab 3D printers to the Prototyping Floor on Floor 3. This major upgrade replaces older Ultimaker models and follows months of research, testing and feedback from Sears think[box] technicians and users.
The new printers—Bambu Lab X2Ds—offer a range of features that provide faster, cleaner prints with more material options and the ability to print in multiple colors at once. These features include:
- Dual-nozzle multi-color printing;
- Compatibility with engineering-grade materials;
- AI-powered error detection; and
- Print speeds of up to 1,000 mm/s.
The outreach team has also added several compact Bambu A1 Minis, which use the same software and workflows as the X2Ds. These portable printers will support hands-on workshops, community programs and off-site events for Sears think[box] while giving participants a smooth transition back to the equipment available in the Prototyping space.
