Spend this summer starting your digital accessibility adventure

Did you know that nationwide, more than 20% of undergraduate students and 10% of graduate students report having a disability? These numbers are likely to be even higher, as not all students disclose their disabilities. This is why the university is dedicated to creating accessible learning environments for all students.

Whether you are creating materials for a course, designing presentations, or hosting meetings for a group, digital accessibility ensures all learners can thrive at our university.

Improve your understanding of digital accessibility with a self-paced summer camp hosted by University Technology’s Teaching and Learning Technologies team. This summer camp is meant for anyone who wants to learn more about digital accessibility, whether they’re a student or on the faculty or staff.

This self-paced program can be completed from anywhere through Canvas.

Participants will decide which trails to explore—meaning they can choose the digital accessibility tips and tricks that resonate most with them. Participants can explore the significance of digital accessibility and assistive technology through various learning paths that teach participants how to create accessible materials, including videos, Zoom meetings, documents, presentations, and PDFs.

There is no set time commitment for this program. Participants can explore as much as they want at their own pace. Some trails only take 10 minutes to complete.

While completing the program, participants will receive badges and if they explore enough trails, they will receive a CWRU digital accessibility travel mug.

Enrollment is open and will run through Aug. 16, with the camp concluding on Aug. 31.

Sign up and begin exploring.
