1970s

Ric Sheffield (WRC ’76, LAW ’79) authored False Promises: The Struggle for Black Voting Rights in 1800s Ohio (Swallow Press), which explores the stories of Black men who were denied the right to vote despite the ratification of the 14th and 15th Amendments.


1980s

Alex Wallach receiving an award

Alex Wallach (WRC ’84) received the Distinguished Service Award from the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia in October of 2025. Wallach lives in Dunwoody, Georgia, and has worked as an attorney since 1987, serving work-injured and disabled clients.


1990s

Paul Mraz (GRS ’91, mechanical engineering) is CEO of the surgical biomaterial manufacturing company Fziomed, Inc., which recently surpassed treating one million patients across its global portfolio. Mraz lives in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Myra Torain Embry (LAW ’93) is a magistrate at Akron Municipal Court in Akron, Ohio. She previously served as chief magistrate of the Cleveland Housing Court, where she supervised the magistrates department, monitored trials and heard dockets as needed.

Jeffrey Goldmeer (GRS ’96, mechanical engineering) is senior director of technology strategy within the Corporate Technology Strategy and Ventures organization of GE Vernova, a manufacturer of energy equipment. In this role, he provides strategic recommendations for energy and power technology programs and investments. Goldmeer lives in Schenectady, New York. 


Julie Stufft (CWR ’98) was sworn in as the Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Prior to this ambassadorship, Stufft served in the Senior Foreign Service and has worked at embassies worldwide.

Marie Vibbert (CWR ’98), of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, authored Multitude (Apex Book Company), a novella that explores how humans and aliens will adapt to the discovery of a new life form in the universe. 


2000s

Holly Drake (SAS ’01) received the National Association of State Chief Information Officers Thomas M. Jarrett Cybersecurity Leadership award for her significant contributions to the field of cybersecurity. In her role as State of Ohio Chief Information Security officer, Drake manages the Office of Information Security and Privacy within the Ohio Department of Administration Services. 

Sarah Coffey Koch (LAW ’09) is partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, a law firm with focuses in the technology, energy, infrastructure, finance and life sciences spaces.


2010s

Scott Angelo (MGT ’11) is chief technology and innovation officer at the Washington, D.C. location of the international law firm Faegre Drinker. In this role, Angelo supervises technology strategy as well as lead security and infrastructure operations.

Heather Rice (NUR ’12; GRS ’17, nursing) was inducted as a fellow into the American Academy of Nursing. Rice lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Jasmine Ogundipe (MED ’15) is in residency with the University of Utah’s Triple Board Program, which includes general pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. Ogundipe lives in Salt Lake City.


Julia Bianco (CWR ’16) authored Witch Season (St. Martin’s Press), her debut novel, which tells of a group who provides refuge to unsettled witches in Los Angeles, and the coven’s conflict with its rival. Bianco had previously received multiple television screenwriting credits, and served as a U.S. assistant to director John M. Chu for the 2024 film Wicked and the 2025 sequel, Wicked: For Good.

Sean McIntyre (LAW ’16) was elected to firm partnership at BakerHostetler, a business law firm. McIntyre represents corporations in major commercial disputes.

James Walsh Jr. (LAW ’17), of Westlake, Ohio, was elected to the partnership of Benesch, a national law firm. Walsh is a commercial litigator at the firm’s Cleveland location, where he focuses on complex business disputes. 


2020s

Daniela Dulworth (CWR ’22) is an associate in the intellectual property litigation practice of Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, an intellectual property litigation law firm in Chicago, Illinois. 

Thomas Lipker (CWR ’22, LAW ’25) is an associate at the law firm Frantz Ward LLP. In this role, he supports a variety of labor and healthcare clients.

Kam Winston (CWR ’23) completed two years of service with Teach for America, a nonprofit organization that recruits educators to teach at under-resourced public schools, while completing a master’s degree in education from Boston University. Winston teaches high school physics and chemistry at Boston Public Schools in Massachusetts.

Amanda Wu (CWR ’25), of Olmsted Township, Ohio, is producing a documentary about the presence of the National Youth Sports Program on Case Western Reserve University’s campus since 1970.
