Study abroad in Rome information session

Students interested in taking “Rome On Site: The Archaeology of the Eternal City,” a study abroad program based in Rome, Italy, are invited to attend an information session Friday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. in Mather House, Room 100. The course, which will be offered during Summer Session 1 (June 2019), will give students the opportunity to experience the urban landscape of ancient Rome through its art, monuments and archaeology. Students are encouraged to email Evelyn Adkins, assistant professor of classics, at ewa5@case.edu to RSVP for the information session. Light snacks will be provided.

About the course

Rome's archaeological remains tell the story of how a small Italian village became the capital of a vast multicultural empire that reached three continents. The course is open to both undergraduates and graduate students. Undergraduates can satisfy their general humanities and/or global and diversity credits. Previous coursework dealing with ancient Rome is not necessary, nor is knowledge of Italian. Students will get an archaeological insider's view of not only Rome, but also Pompeii and other nearby sites, drawing on the instructors’ years of experience living and excavating in Italy and the Mediterranean.
