Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to study key figures of the Italian Renaissance in an upcoming course, Italian Renaissance Masters and Muses, hosted by the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program.
This course—taught by Paola Basile, professor of Italian at Lake Erie College—will study this period of cultural, intellectual, artistic, scientific and social achievement that began in the 14th century.
Participants also will explore key figures, such as:
Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, who championed human potential;
Marsilio Ficino, who merged Platonic philosophy with Christianity;
Leonardo da Vinci, a polymath blending science, engineering and art;
Michelangelo, famed for his magnificent sculptures, paintings, and architecture and more.
This series will take place Mondays, Sept. 29 through Nov. 3, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Landmark Centre Building, Suite 100 (25700 Science Park Drive, Beachwood, OH 44122).
