Submit an entry for the 2026 Beauty in Physics Science Art Competition
The Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University is accepting entries for its 2026 Beauty in Physics Science Art Competition, which will feature the creativity of science and research.
Open to members of the CWRU, Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland Institute of Music communities, this competition will offer five to 10 awards based on the following categories:
- Scientific imaging and data, which includes experimental images;
- Computational, schematics and 3D illustration (such as simulations, graphics and post-processed images);
- Most aesthetically appealing, which includes artwork, physics-related hobbies;
- Wildcard and physics beyond 2D (such as music, poetry, video and dance); and
- Best overall.
Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to use their own human creativity and any use of artificial intelligence must be declared in the caption. Art submitted does not need to be publication-level data or illustrations and submissions related to a personal hobby that may be connected to physics are welcome.
This competition takes place through March 31. Winners will receive up to $250 and their work displayed within the Department of Physics.
