University to test emergency notification systems today
Case Western Reserve University will test its emergency notification systems—including its outdoor speakers—at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday, Oct. 21). This test is being conducted over fall break to reduce its impact on the campus community.
In addition to broadcasting a test message on outdoor speakers across the campus, the university will briefly post test messages on its websites and social media platforms. Officials also will transmit test messages on a much more limited basis via speakers on office telephones, text and email.
All messages sent as part of this exercise will include the word “TEST” up front. In the event that an actual emergency takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 21, the university will send messages without “TEST” and recipients should follow the instructions provided.
