Susan Helper, the Frank Tracy Carlton Professor of Economics, co-authored an article for Brookings titled “Why undermining fuel efficiency standards would harm the U.S. auto industry.”
With her co-authors, Helper explained how President Donald Trump’s proposed fuel economy program could weaken the auto industry, which has only recently stabilized from the recession.
