Weatherhead's Michael Goldberg discusses Kroger’s Giant Eagle deal

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Michael Goldberg, professor at Weatherhead School of Management and associate vice president of the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship, said it’s too early to know whether Kroger’s Giant Eagle acquisition will help or hurt consumers. He said lower prices from Kroger’s scale are possible, but reduced competition and potential future store closures remain concerns because merger promises can change over time. “The jury’s still out," he said.
