On any given afternoon, you might find Dana Kleinman in the lab, eyes fixed on a neural assay, chasing the signals of discovery.

Her inquisitive nature and her love for learning led her to Case Western Reserve University, where she’s now pursuing a Master of Science in Biotechnology on the Neuroscience Track.

“I knew CWRU was where I could branch out and explore my interests,” Kleinman said. “It’s a school that values curiosity and collaboration as much as results.”

Originally from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Kleinman found her footing in the CWRU community and has become a scientist who thrives on curiosity, collaboration and the thrill of discovery. She said her program has shaped her understanding of neuroscience and her vision for “how scientific ideas can become real-world solutions.”

That vision came to life during her summer internship with Amptiv Biosciences, where she turned classroom theory into hands-on impact.

“The coolest part was being trusted with my own project and having a mentor who showed me the ropes and then let me run with it,” she recalled. What began as a summer internship bloomed into a career path in bridging molecular insight with clinical application.

When she’s not conducting research, Kleinman often turns to tennis, a sport she has played since she was 5 years old and continued through high school and college. It’s her favorite way to clear her mind, stay active and maintain balance during busy semesters.

Looking ahead, Kleinman hopes to continue working at the intersection of neuroscience and biotechnology, developing tools that improve patient care and deepen understanding of the brain.
