What to Expect

You’ll have two different options to complete your Master of Science in Data Science, each designed to give you the flexibility to match your career goals.

  • Course-focused: Take classes such as “Machine Learning on Graphs and Responsible AI Engineering,” which will give you the tools to tackle advanced data science problems.
  • Thesis-focused: Conduct original research in areas such as medical image processing or large language models.

Admission Requirements

Our program thrives when we have students with diverse perspectives and a range of educational, professional and life experiences. We look forward to learning more about you!

The application process typically requires:

  • Online application, including a statement of purpose
  • $50 application fee
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience in programming (Java, C++, Python )
  • Mathematical foundational knowledge (linear algebra, calculus-based statistics) 
  • Unofficial transcripts
  • Current resume/CV
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Test scores for GRE
  • International applicants: Results of TOEFL or IELTS, or a posted degree from an English-speaking school
