About the Program

Advance your career and update your investing, financing and capital management skills with a Certificate in Financial Management from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

Our two certificate options will prepare you for the sought-after Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification—and you’ll come away from our program prepared for a career as a budget analyst, financial analyst, auditor, financial advisor or myriad other roles.

What to Expect

Our flexible program offers two levels of certification—Level 1 and Level 2 (advanced)—and our certificates are stackable toward our highly ranked Master of Finance degree.

To earn the Level 1 certificate, you’ll complete three of the following courses:

  • Financial Management
  • Investment Management
  • Financial Modeling
  • Mergers and Acquisitions

For an advanced certificate, you’ll select the remaining class from the Level 1 certificate set of courses, and two from a more advanced set:

  • Financial Strategy and Value Creation
  • Corporate Financial Technology
  • Entrepreneurial Finance

You can complete up to three courses per semester—whatever works best for your schedule.

As added benefits, you can participate in our seminar speaker series to gain exposure to leading experts in the finance industry and our academic speaker series to learn about new developments in finance. You may also join trek experiences to visit financial firms and corporations in major cities throughout the country. The seminar speaker series and trek experiences are virtual at this time.
