Certificate in Financial Management at a Glance
The Weatherhead Way

Your Classes
In our certificate program, you have the choice to complete up to three courses per semester, which also prepares you for the sought-after Chartered Financial Analyst certification.
To earn the Level 1 certificate, you’ll complete lower-level coursework in:
- FNCE 429 - Investment Management
- FNCE 404 - Financial Modeling
- FNCE 450 - Mergers and Acquisitions
If you have not taken a financial management class previously, it is required that you enroll in a compulsory course such as MBAP 405 -H (Online) - Financial Management, MBAP 405 - Financial Management I, or FNCE 421 Corporate Financial Analysis as part of the Level I certificate.
Earning the advanced Level 2 certification includes the same requirements as Level 1, in addition to advanced courses in:
- FNCE 428 - Financial Strategy and Value Creation
- FNCE 403 - Corporate Financial Technology
- FNCE 440 - Financial Decisions, Contracting and Analytics OR FNCE 480 - Global Banking and Capital Markets
Financial Management Certificate Level I and Level II classes may be taken out of order per the discretion of the master of finance faculty director.
Credit hours from the certificates will count towards the degree, when a student switches from a non-degree certificate to degree seeking, after completing all available levels of a certificate.
Certificate Application Deadlines
To receive a decision by the Notification Date listed, you must submit and complete your application by the corresponding Application Deadline. The Admissions Committee will not issue an offer of admission if an application package remains incomplete.
