About the Program

A 24-credit LLM degree program ranked among the top in the U.S. for academics and student experience, according to International Jurist. Navigate cross-border interests for global clients with one of five LLM concentrations. Earn your degree full-time in nine months or part-time in up to four years, or combine with another graduate degree as part of a dual-degree program.

What to Expect

Designed for U.S.-trained lawyers looking to gain specialized education and experience in a particular area of law, this degree assists you in shifting to a new field of law, restarting a career after taking time away from practicing law or seeking to augment your JD degree from a lower-ranked school. Courses are offered at the law school throughout the day, including limited late-afternoon, evening and summer options. Only a handful of students are admitted each year.

Choose your track:

  • U.S. & Global Legal Studies—prepare for the U.S. bar exam
  • Intellectual Property Law—patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets
  • International Business Law—academic analysis and practical applications of U.S. business law and international business transactions
  • International Criminal Law—practice international criminal law before international tribunals or national courts
  • International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution—spend two years in Chongqing and your third year in Cleveland
