Summer Language and Law Institute

Our Curriculum

The Summer Language and Law Institute emphasizes the reading, analysis, research and writing skills you will need to participate in legal discourse. The institute broadens and polishes your English communication skills, while introducing you to American common law practice.

We practice conversation and comprehension skills and become familiar with American classroom dynamics, including the Socratic method. Participating students get a head start in undertaking any U.S. legal studies program and develop confidence as legal professionals to interact with U.S. attorneys.

At the end of the three-week program, you will receive a certificate of completion and a grade of credit (CR) or no credit (No Credit) on your Case Western Reserve University transcript.

In recent years, students from Brazil, China, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE and Vietnam have enrolled. The curriculum is the same for on campus and online students.
