About the Program

In Case Western Reserve University's Master of Social Work (MSW) Weekend program, we combine the rigor of our top-ranked social work master's program with the flexibility you need to continue your career. You'll take classes one weekend per month with a cohort of students who you'll learn with—and from—over the next three years. This program was designed with professionals in mind. And with our focus on equity, innovation and transformation in all that we do at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, you'll graduate with skills and connections to switch careers or advance in the job you already have.

Field Education

As the bridge between classroom and practice, field education provides a supportive, supervised opportunity for you to apply classroom knowledge to professional social work practice. In our master’s in social work program, you will complete 500 to 900 hours of field training, depending on the program you choose.

Admissions Details

Our holistic review process considers your work and lived experiences. There is no GRE or application fee. Our application includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university 
  • Resume
  • Two-part essay (3-5 pages)
  • One letter of recommendation
