Sydney Evans, a member of the Community Outreach and Engagement team at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and community navigator for the Cleveland African American Prostate Cancer Project (CAAPP), was named a 40 Under 40 Emerging Legend by the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation.
As a community navigator, she plays an instrumental role in helping develop partnerships with barbershops to encourage Black men to get screened for prostate cancer.
While she was a master’s student at the Mandel School, she supervised the Student Run Health Clinic at Neighborhood Family Practice.
Evans is currently a PhD student at the Mandel School.
She will be recognized during a celebration later this month at the MidTown Collaboration Center.
