Sydney Evans, a member of the Community Outreach and Engagement team at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and community navigator for the Cleveland African American Prostate Cancer Project, was named a 40 Under 40 Emerging Legend by the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation.
As a master’s student at the Mandel School, Evans supervised the Student Run Health Clinic at the Neighborhood Family Practice. As a community navigator with the Cleveland African American Prostate Cancer Project, Evans has played an instrumental role in helping develop partnerships with barbershops to encourage Black men to get screened for prostate cancer.
Evans also is a PhD student at the Mandel School.
She will be recognized during a celebration later this month at the MidTown Collaboration Center.
