This 24-page booklet is a collection of stories about people in the State of Ohio whose recovery journeys were advanced with Supported Employment (SE), the evidence-based practice. Learn about the personal challenges faced by each person and how working a job helped these people manage their symptoms and achieve their goals for a better life. Use this booklet for educating, training, and building consensus about the advantages of SE among consumers, family members, service providers, policymakers, advocates, community stakeholders, and employers. Use this booklet to facilitate a variety of conversations:
- Consumer (peer-to-peer) education: Show people who are interested in and/or hesitant about employment that finding and keeping part-time or full-time jobs in the community is possible with evidence-based SE services. Job development: Show potential employers that they may also benefit from SE by finding employees who want to work and value the opportunity.
- Advocacy: Show policymakers and people in your community evidence of enhanced outcomes and increased quality of as a result of evidence-based SE services.
