Our Mission
The mission of the Student-Run Health Clinic is centered around three founding goals:
To Serve
To provide high quality, compassionate health care to underserved populations within the Greater Cleveland community. We believe that everyone has a right to health care, regardless of their ability to pay. That's why our clinic does not require insurance from our patients.
To Learn
To provide health-profession students unique clinical practice and mentorship opportunities at the earliest stages of their careers. The SRHC offers first- and second-year students a unique opportunity early in their medical training to evaluate their first patients as junior members of student assessment teams. Third- and fourth-year students have the chance to act as mentors, guiding their pre-clinical counterparts as senior members of student assessment teams.
To Collaborate
To foster and encourage a unique environment for interprofessional collaboration between future health care professionals. The Student-Run Health Clinic believes that physicians, nurses, dentists, social workers and other health care professionals provide the best care to their patients when they work together as peers. Founded and operated by students from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Physician Assistant Program, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, our clinic promotes interprofessional collaboration on both an administrative and operational level. By giving our volunteers the opportunity to work with their peers from other health care fields, we hope to help forge lasting, mutual respect and understanding for each other’s unique perspectives, challenges and abilities.
