Prepare for next week's cold weather

With single-digit temperatures and sub-zero wind chills expected next week, take some time this weekend to make sure you're prepared for the upcoming cold weather, and be sure to dress appropriately for the activities you will be engaged in. Remember to wear plenty of layers, along with a heavy winter coat, gloves, hat, scarf and boots when going outside.

Review some tips from the Department of Emergency Management and University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) for staying safe while you stay up-to-date on weather reports.

Check the UHCS website to learn more about staying safe in the cold and visit the Division of Public Safety website to get information about preparing for emergencies.

Review shuttle options

The university offers a variety of free shuttle options for getting around campus quickly and safely—consider utilizing campus shuttle services when navigating campus to avoid exposure to the frigid temperatures. Review regular shuttle routes.

Keep an eye on the location and timing of shuttles with the real-time shuttle tracker through TransLoc. Various stops throughout campus are also equipped with electronic signs that display the arrival time of the next shuttle.
