Weatherhead Finishes First in Day of Giving

Weatherhead Day of Giving

The goal was high – more than doubling the number of donors for the Weatherhead Day of Giving crowdfunding campaign from 120 to 250.  Thanks to the alumni network and others in the Weatherhead community, the nearly impossible task became beyond possible, with 280 donors and more than $80,000 raised on April 10, 2024.  Among all the schools at CWRU, Weatherhead ranked first with the largest number of donors.

It was a team effort, starting with interim co-deans Andrew Medvedev and JB Silvers matching the first $20,000 donated, and former Dean Manoj Malhotra matching gifts to the Manoj and Maya Malhotra Dean’s Strategic Initiatives Endowment Fund. Faculty, staff, and students also made donations throughout the day.
Day of Giving donations will be used to upgrade teaching tools and student resources, attract top-caliber students to the MBA program, and provide support to veteran students and service members attending the school.

"I'm truly inspired by the number of Weatherhead alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and even students, who donated,” said Kevin Smith, associate dean of external relations. “Their willingness to invest a portion of their resources reflects their unwavering confidence in the school and our shared belief that the Weatherhead School of Management enriches our lives in profound ways."
