CWRU Family Business Classes

The Center for Family Business offers family business classes to enrolled students at Case Western Reserve University.  These classes are available to both undergraduate and graduate students.  

The classes being offered in spring 2026 include:

  • MGMT 320/420: Introduction to Family Businesses Jan. 12, 2026-March 2, 2026
    • How do family businesses differ from non family businesses in philosophy, ownership structure and generation
    • Ways to navigate the unique opportunities and challenges in their evolution
  • MGMT 321/421: Complexities of Family Businesses March 16, 2026-April 27, 2026
    • Understanding roles, expectations and balancing of stakeholders
    • What to consider before working in a family business

The classes are each 1.5 credit hours and are back-to-back on Mondays from 6-8:30 p.m. in Peter B. Lewis. There are no prerequisites and while the classes build on each other, they can be taken individually. The instructor is Cindy Steeb, Clearstead, Senior Managing Director Trust Administration Services and author of Preserving Multigenerational Wealth.
