An xLab student team is partnering with Dr. Fred Collopy, emeritus professor from Weatherhead, for his startup application, Imager. Imager is a groundbreaking visual synthesizer instrument that merges the constructs of abstract expressionism with the principles of music theory and synthesizer design. It allows users to create abstract art in real time, enabling musicians, artists, educators, and others to produce video tracks that reflect the essence of music.
The students are actively working on developing a community of users for Imager. They are hosting several tabling events around the university to showcase Imager and get real-time feedback from potential users and students, as well as collaborating with local professors in art, education, and marketing. The students are also planning a user competition in the coming weeks, aiming to showcase the innovative potential of Imager and its unique intersection of art and music.
