What does it mean to seek refuge? How does it feel to be welcomed or denied entry into a new country? What does it mean to leave your home to seek safety far away? In the exhibition Braided Memories, Chilean Jewish poet, writer, and human rights activist Dr. Marjorie Agosín explores these questions and more through the story of her great grandmother, Helena Broder, who fled her home in Vienna for safety in Chile in the wake of Kristallnacht.
