Theodore J. Castele, known to many as “Dr. Ted,” made history in 1975 as the first physician in the United States to host a regular medical feature on broadcast television. He provided expert medical insights daily on ABC affiliate WEWS Channel 5.
Active in his community of fellow Case Western Reserve University alumni, Castele served on the Board of Trustees, twice chaired fundraising campaigns for Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and played a significant role in leading the campaign for the Frank N. and Jocelyne K. Linsalata Alumni Center.
In 2011, The Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve awarded him the Distinguished Alumnus Award for his contributions.
