Research Interests

Prof. Suh's research focuses on energy and environmental geotechnics through the lens of theoretical and computational poromechanics. His work integrates first principles with phenomenological observations to develop predictive models for a wide range of natural and engineered materials. Specifically, he investigates how multi-phase materials respond to stress, deformation, flow regimes, temperature variations, phase transitions, and damage evolution. His research aims to advance our understanding of thermo-hydro-chemo-mechanically coupled processes and apply this knowledge to improve engineering solutions for energy systems, geohazard mitigation, and sustainable resource management.
