Madison Albert, a PhD student in biomedical engineering at Case Western Reserve University, is focused on enhancing MRI technology by improving radiofrequency (RF) pulse design. A former Barry Goldwater Scholar, Albert was recently awarded a prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, which provides three years of funding and flexibility to pursue her research. Her work has already led to reduced blurring in fast brain and abdominal scans, demonstrating the potential for improved image quality and scan efficiency.
