Where is your research opportunity located or who is it in partnership with?

Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute

Explain the details of your research.

My project is in melanoma prevention, and characterizing different pigments in the skin.

How did you find this opportunity?

This is my third summer in the Krishna Lab and my second summer participating in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center’s CanSUR program!

What has your experience been so far?

Working in a lab is a lot of fun. I’ve been having a great time trying to propose structures for these pigments, and I was able to give my first longer oral presentation last month!

What are you most looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to presenting again at the end of the summer, and at Intersections!

What's your best advice for students who might be looking for a similar opportunity?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and get the most you can from whatever you do! (I’m also a peer advisor for the school of engineering, so this is a great question.)

Anything else to share?

This is my third summer in Cleveland, and I’m a huge fan. I also like to rock climb and go to the beach when I’m not in lab!
