General Questions
Answer: CWRU started their Research and Development of the HoloAnatomy® Software Suite back in 2015. Our Medical students have been using this product since 2018. HoloAnatomy® Application has been exclusively used in our 1st and 2nd year medical education digital anatomy suite since July 2019 when the Health Education Campus opened its doors.
Answer: We send comprehensive communication to our customers with all appropriate links and documentation to upgrade their HoloAnatomy® Software.
Answer: We have an extensive onboarding process for our customers. We provide them with all the necessary information, documentation and training.
Answer: Yes, they are.
Answer: Yes, our software annual license, maintenance and service fee includes technical support and training.
Hardware and Software Requirements
Answer: You need a Windows PC, Microsoft HoloLens 2, and access to a stable internet connection.
Answer: No, HoloAnatomy® Designer Tool works on Windows-based computers, currently it is not supported on Apple devices. The HoloAnatomy® Viewer works with Microsoft HoloLens.
Answer: Yes, you can use a hotspot to operate in HoloAnatomy® Application.
Answer: Yes, the Microsoft HoloLens must have internet access through Wi-Fi for HoloAnatomy® Application to work. A standard classroom WAPs will support HoloLens 2. If 30 students can connect to Wi-Fi from their laptops during class, then these WAPs will support 30 students using HoloLens. Remember HoloLens 2 is a self-contained Windows 10 computer that you wear on your head.
Answer: You need to think about a secure storage and cleaning supplies for your HoloLenses. A microphone and speakers in the room can help project the instructor’s voice to a large audience.
Answer: We mounted several large screen smart TV’s in the classroom to share instructor’s materials with the students.
Answer: The HoloAnatomy® Viewer app is installed on the HoloLenses, the Designer Tool is installed on faculty or instructional designer’s (content creators) Windows PC, and the Dashboard Tool is installed on digital lab tech’s (if the program does not have one then a faculty) Windows PC. The PC used to install the application on the HoloLens will require an ‘IPoverUSB’ service from Microsoft to be installed if connecting to the Device Portal. If using Provisioning Packages instead of the Device portal, ‘IPOverUSB’ is no longer required. IPOverUSB is only required to connect to the Device Portal through https://localhost:10443
Answer: Currently we do not offer a web/cloud-based solution. An application must be installed on the HoloLens to view and an application must be installed on a Windows PC for designing the content. In other words, the Designer Tool is installed locally on your Windows PC and created content from the Designer tool is published to the cloud so that HoloAnatomy® Viewer on the HoloLens can receive the content to view holograms.
Answer: HoloLens Application and Designer Tool require a connection to the internet and at this time we do not have a local server option.
Course Materials
Answer: We do not provide any prepared anatomy materials associated with the product.
Answer: Content is created by a course faculty or an instructional designer who has access to the designer Tool that resides on a Windows PC and is connected to the internet.
Answer: Yes, you can use the Designer Tool to create quizzes and test materials and then test your students using the HoloAnatomy® Application. One thing to keep in mind is that you can’t use HoloAnatomy® Software to score the students’ answers. Other means of collecting the answers must be used to score the answers.
Training
Answer: We are happy to share a sample e-mail, agenda, and presentation that we created for our students and has been wildly successful in getting them up and running quickly.
Remote Requirements
Answer: We provide each of our students with a device, also the instructor and technical team each receive a HoloLens. However, you can create a buddy system and ship HoloLenses back and forth.
Answer: Remote HoloAnatomy® teaching is done along with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other video conferencing platforms of your choice.
Answer: HoloLens 2 (hardware); HoloAnatomy® Software Suite (software) and a stable Wi-Fi connection, you can also use a hot spot or your cell phone.
Product Pricing
Answer: The first year is your investment year. This includes purchase of the hardware, deployment of the software and training. The following years are your license, service and maintenance subscription.

Accounts and Sign In
Answer: We do not store any password information, just name and Microsoft Account email address.
Answer: We use Microsoft authentication for the Web Portal and Designer Tool applications. HoloLens Viewer application does not require sign-in.
Answer: No, we do not. Logging into the Web Portal as well as the Designer Tool use Microsoft’s Authentication tools and will work with Microsoft Account as well as Azure Active Directory or Office 365 Accounts.
Data Collection & Integration with LMS
Answer: We are not currently collecting or exporting any student or faculty usage data.
Answer: There is no integration with the LMS at this time.
Answer: At the moment we do not support collection of data.
