Dr. Bordeaux currently serves as the Director of the Multidisciplinary Melanoma Tumor Board, the Director of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship Director at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. In addition he is a Professor of Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He received his MD from Duke University School of Medicine and his MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed his residency in Dermatology and his fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Cutaneous Oncology and Cutaneous Reconstruction at UMass Medical School. His clinical and research interests include prevention and treatment of melanoma, advanced cutaneous reconstruction and the epidemiology and prevention of skin cancers. He also enjoys mentoring medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty.
Dr. Bordeaux has received many awards throughout his career. He is a member the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He received the "Theodore Tromovitch Award" which is given to one Mohs surgeon each year for outstanding research. He was awarded the Dermatology Foundation Career Development Award in Dermatologic Surgery. He has been selected by the dermatology residents at Case Western Reserve University as: Research Mentor of the Year, Mentor of the Year, and Teacher of the Year. He has also been recognized by his peers by being voted to America's Best Doctors and America's Super Doctors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American College of Mohs Surgery, the Board of Directors for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Board of Directors of the Association of Professors of Dermatology (where he formerly served as the Chair of the Dermatologic Surgery Section). He received the presidential award from the American Academy of Dermatology and the presidential award from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He also was chosen as a “Distinguished Physician” at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Dr. Bordeaux has published more than 120 peer reviewed articles, 15 book chapters, edited a book, and given over 200 national/international lectures including. He currently serves an Assistant Editor for Dermatologic Surgery. He has also served on the editorial board for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and the editorial board for JAMA Dermatology, the Surgical Advisory Board for the Archives of Dermatology, and as Associate editor for JAMA Dermatology. He has directed multiple national conferences, chaired committees for the American College of Mohs surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Association of Professors of Dermatology.
